Nation: Kristol Clear at Time (1/2/07) by David Corn

Singling out Weekly Standard editor William Kristol among pro-war pundits with the knack for "failing up" the corporate ladder. Despite having wrongly predicted that war on Iraq "could have terrifically good effects throughout the Middle East," "we will be respected around the world for helping the people of Iraq to be liberated" and—of course—that "we'll be vindicated when we discover the weapons of mass destruction," the
former chief of staff for Vice President Dan Quayle [and] Fox News regular has not seen his standing as a go-to conservative pundit suffer. Moreover, he has been rewarded with a plum posting. Time magazine's new managing editor, Richard Stengel, has invited Kristol to become what Stengel calls a "star" columnist for the magazine.
