“Protesters are burning stuff from the trucks now”; to the New York Times, this is what “ugly” looks like. (image: Joe Bruno/WSOC)
From the New York Times (9/20/16):
About 16 police officers in Charlotte, N.C., were injured when a standoff between law enforcement and demonstrators turned ugly overnight after an officer fatally shot a black man on Tuesday afternoon.
Funny—some might say that the turn toward ugliness occurred in the afternoon, when a police officer fatally shot a black man.

God damn. AGAIN? What do we have to do to make this stop?!
What were they burning from the trucks that made killing an unarmed man not as ugly?
Charlotte has one of the softest “hug-a-thug” police departments in the country. If your community is so dysfunctional that you can’t work with a PD like theirs – there’s no hope for you.
#WorldPassingYouBy
Apparently not as soft as New York, for there the legalized killers decided not to kill the bomb suspect and he is still alive. Whereas in Charlotte, if a legalized murderer sees you reading a book while black, your good as dead.
I guess they are soft because they executed only one Black person this time? That’s easy to understand when you are a cold blooded white privileged racist, who would commit suicide before admmiting #BlackLivesMatter!
We pity the ignorant children raised in your cowardly racist household…
A “hug-a-thug” police department? Wow…I had no idea the cops there actually let you hug them!
Only if you’re a thug. Don’t get any wild ideas Michael.
WAR LOVING RICH — WHY SUCH VOTER SUPPORT?
Which raises the question, do the rich control voters, or do voters control the rich?
Then again, as winning wars of aggression produce a glorious profit called plunder, should the proper question be: Are the voters pleasing the rich, or are the rich pleasing voters?
Trump
”When we won the Iraq war, we should have taken the oil.”
Which raises the question: Who are the voters? For the impoverished lower-half of society, surely they would still be impoverished even if we did steal the Iraq oil.
For the college educated upper-half of society loves our wars of plunder, as they get to own all of our land, wealth, glory and plunder.
The lady told the police that he did not have a gun. I suspect they knew it was a book and shot anyway knowing they always have that throw down if they need it.
Well, who the heck ever LISTENS to a woman telling them something……….the man’s truck was in a Disabled Parking Space, and he’s Disabled, or so I read…………….WHY did so many Cops go after one man, for doing WHAT………….?? as usual, NONE OF THIS makes any rational sense.
“Funny—some might say that the turn toward ugliness occurred in the afternoon, when a police officer fatally shot a black man.”
What did being black have to do with it? You are saying, as Scott’s daughter insists, that he was shot “because he was black?”
You have a biased take on this. There is ZERO evidence the cop did anything wrong. And BTW, did you know that the cop is black? That is relevant because are we expected to believe that Officer Brentley Vinson hates blacks? The dramatic bias I have seen is the harping on the race of Keith Scott while there has been dramatic underreporting and in many cases no reporting of the fact that the cop who shot Scott is black. Scott’s brother assumed a white cop shot him (declaring “white cops and white people are the devil”) and it looks like you are assuming it was a white cop too.
“There is ZERO evidence the cop did anything wrong.”
And until the videos are released and the investigation is complete, there’s zero evidence the cop didn’t do something wrong. There’s also zero evidence Scott did anything wrong. But unlike the cops, he can’t tell his version of events because the cops silenced him… forever. Funny how that works.
We should not look at killings.
