FAIR is the national progressive media watchdog group, challenging corporate media bias, spin and misinformation. We work to invigorate the First Amendment by advocating for greater diversity in the press and by scrutinizing media practices that marginalize public interest, minority and dissenting viewpoints. We expose neglected news stories and defend working journalists when they are muzzled. As a progressive group, we believe that structural reform is ultimately needed to break up the dominant media conglomerates, establish independent public broadcasting and promote strong non-profit sources of information.

In a word ..Yes. This obviously IS Iraq all over again. But with a better informed public (no thanks to corporate media) who are sick of Imperialistic wars fought on behalf of Saudi Arabia, Isreal and parasitic wal street investment bankers…and did the T party go somewhere? I thought their every opinion on everything was being piped directly into congress and the white house like Muzack ..everywhere from FOX to NPR to WAPO to the NY times..There was a time that slacked off and I missed it? Dang
President Obama today said he has “not made any decisions” on whether to launch a military strike on Syria, but sought to assure the American public and the international community that if he does, it will be a “limited, narrow act.”
How could he assure this limited, Narrow act, would not kill Civilians? and what does he say if Syria retaliate, or Iran act on their promise, what about Russia? Putin said he will strike Saudi Arabia if the US hit Syria. Why Obama doesn’t act without threatening or warning? if he think he is scaring The Assad, we don’t see that but the Opposite, Bashar Al Assad said today he was waiting for Obama to start his Attack. The US and Obama looking weaker every day.
Has anyone asked the Syrian people what they want?
Fadi, yes, good point exactly, and John Wolfe also, bothering to include what the Syrians themselves may want. No one can know the consequences of these militaristic actions by Obama. When it was made known to me that Prez Obama and his admin and along with even more up and coming outrageous justifications by AG Holder for a GDed “legitimate(according to them)” freaking damned ‘kiil list,’ WTF???!!!A KILL LIST, A LINEUP OF ENEMY COMBATANTS DECIDED BY…????it’s anyone’s best guess. 16 yr old son of Awlaki and his wife, and her and his son’s Mom must pondered what terrorist acts her 16 yr old son committed giving reason for being obliterated by a drone missile…me too.
This country is heading down a similar path that the Roman Empire took and we know how they ended up.
I can’ get over it…a kill list for Zeus sakes!!!
I’m with the FCNL and Codepink in this matter.
Hate won’t stop hate, nor will blowing up a small country’s infra structure the way Israel did to Lebanon, or the US did to Iraq.
Tears won’t help this country or the innocent citizens, many of them children, of the small countries, but the fact that I shed them over what decades of American caused suffering in the world these leaders have wrought, I hope, indicates simply a US citizen that has not lost HIS humanity.
Cynicism and apathy are also our enemies, as it is stultifying to taking action at the injustice all around us.
Thank goodness for FAIR.
Big difference.Iraq had broken all 17 caveats of their gulf war one surrender document with us.They also were breaking UN treaties.Syria has broken no treaties with us(as horrible as this is)They have broken world agreements against using gas.Let the world move forward. We can take up the rear for once.As far as the tea party……we never left.Since 1776.We are simply people who believe in the constitution .To infer we are a political party is and always has been nonsense. We are not going anywhere.People who realize we are the watchdogs of the constitution will continue to keep an eye in the rear view mirror as they run for office. That was our goal all along.
Van Jones represents the Left in the debate? Which Left is that — it cannot possibly be the one I consider myself a part of. Just because CNN or Fox or MSNBC claim someone speaks for the Left doesn’t mean they actually do. These “Leftists” are shills for the broadcast spectacle, just like the rest of their RW cast (there may be a few exceptions, but this would not be one of those).
Report for Dec 13, 2013, Janine Jackson and a USA Today poll about acceptance of Iran/US agreements…LMAO, who expected anything less than dishonesty and deceit from USA Today(as is usual)? On why the polls differ Janine says, “what explains it is, those ‘other’ polls,” Janine astutely observes, “ask questions that included information about the deal.” And then she shows exactly why the polls are different with USA Today’s being so lame as to be meaningless, or as Janine says, ‘pretty darn useless.’ and she’s correct, with so much information daily assaulting us good and bad alike, vetting every story is impossible, so a little nudge of a reminder regarding the issue at hand, at least in polls which assume so much, that being they do it purposely as they know that most people are doing as much as they can daily just to go to work 8 hours a day, often for less pay, sleep a little, feed themselves, spend time with the kids needs, and boom start over the next 24 hour cycle, leaving little time to vet every article out there which would then make one an informed citizen(what no tyrannical gov’t wants, especially one of, by and for, the rich). Thanks Janine, and Peter on the NSA stuff.
