The New York Times (2/23/17) cited FAIR in its obituary of longtime Fox News host Alan Colmes:
The media watchdog organization Fairness & Accuracy In Reporting harrumphed, “If the Harlem Globetrotters have the Washington Generals as their nightly fall guys, Sean Hannity has Alan Colmes.”
The piece that “harrumphed” about Colmes was Steve Rendall’s “An Aggressive Conservative vs. a ‘Liberal to Be Determined'” (Extra!, 11–12/03).

Alan was an exemplary journalist especially for being brave and focussed enough to fight for truth within the fox fortress bringing possibly the only fair and logical dialogue to those fox incarcerated masses.
His radio show talk was the very best by far.
Rest in peace Alan you were a brave warrior for truth justice and the American way!
Colmes was an Establishment guy. He was only liberal in contrast to Hannity. I saw him balk plenty of times when he could have gone with a radical idea but, nope, he’d get all conservative about it. I feel for his family, but just because the guy’s dead doesn’t clean up his record.
OK, I get it, Colmes is dead and we don’t want to speak ill of the dead. But wait a minute. By playing a weak-kneed liberal next to an aggressive right-wing proto-fascist braggart who nightly “defeated’ this straw man liberal–and by default all liberals everywhere–Colmes served his Fox News master well. That’s his record.
I come to FAIR specifically for the harrumphs.
