In today’s New York Times corrections box (8/1/14):
Someone at the New York Times needs to read this book.
An article on Wednesday about demands among both parties in Congress that the Obama administration allow a vote on any agreement with Iran on its nuclear weapons program misstated, in some editions, the value of assets that Iran will have access to under an agreement. It is more than $2 billion, not more than $2 million.
This correction needs a correction.
Iran does not have a “nuclear weapons program.” It has a uranium enrichment program; some politicians claim it also has a weapons program it is concealing. This has never been substantiated by international inspections. Unfortunately it is often treated as a fact by journalists. The original Times piece had it right, referring to Iran’s “suspected efforts to design a weapon.”
Such suspicions should not be turned into facts.

NYT is Zionist owned. Truth does not exist. Lying Ba$tards.
M. Arshad, you are a racist fool. FAIR is doing good work and exposed an error (whether intentional or not) by the NY Times. They’re doing good work. Your comment, on the other hand, is not welcome and an embarrassment to people working hard to make sure that journalism is fair and newspapers act with integrity.
“U.S. Anti-Iran Lobby Group Accused of Mossad Ties”
http://www.richardsilverstein.com/2014/07/31/u-s-anti-iran-lobby-group-has-mossad-ties/
Whether promoting the drumbeat of war (Fox) or becoming the self-appointed voice of officialdom (NYT), the American mainstream news media are not geared to presenting the facts in a manner that can be termed dispassionately fair. Even more so than Iran, the Palestine-Israel issue best illustrates the one-sided reporting that Americans are forced to put up with.
The reality is that any “News” org is going to be biased, in one direction or another. There is no real such thing as ‘totally unbiased”. We all know that. What is the lie, is that those who are claiming total neutrality. Even F.A.I.R. admits it’s about the Liberal side, but still looking to be fair. The Lame stream media doesn’t want fair, they want to in charge.
We pre-emptively attacked two countries that didn’t threaten the US, namely Iraq and Libya. We devestated these two nation states, turning them into a hodgepodge of warrng fiefdoms. Iran may have noticed, even after its massive candlelight vigil on 9/12/01 in Tehran, done in commeration of the 3000 Usama had killed in NYC a day earlier.
We have already committed acts of war against Iran, as that country has seen its computers attacked by the US and its young and promising nuclear scientists blown to bits by hidden bombs. We have strangulated their economy in the same way we did Japan’s before Pearl Harbor, making it difficult if not impossible for Iran to access international banking, trade, or natural resource exchanges.
Why would a country like Iran feel the need for a nuclear deterrent? While Iran has been staying inside its borders for over a century, Israel has originated and expanded its state such that it now occupies 78% of historic Palestine and has over 500 nuclear weapons. But they’re the good guys, remember?
Well, the NYT is part of the MSM after all. A MSM who’s MO is to repeat a lie often enough so that the people will eventually believe it.
Hart’s apologies for Iran continue to border on the bizarre.
Taking a break from disseminating anti-Israel propaganda, Hart writes unequivocally: “Iran does not have a ‘nuclear weapons program.'”
Yet, a few lines later, he concedes that some believe Iran does, in fact, have a concealed nuclear weapons program.
It’s worth looking at the IAEA’s conclusions. According to the IAEA’s November 2012 report: “Iran has carried out activities that are relevant to the development of a nuclear explosive device.”
According to the IAEA’s November 2013 report: “Since 2002, the Agency has become increasingly concerned about the possible existence in Iran of undisclosed nuclear related activities involving military related organizations, including activities related to the development of a nuclear payload for a missile.”
In other words, when Hart states that Iran does not have a nuclear weapons program, he means: “It has not been confirmed that Iran has a nuclear weapons program. However, many believe it does, and the IAEA has found extensive evidence of activities relevant to a nuclear weapons program.”
(It is worth noting the obvious point that a nuclear weapons program is often impossible to confirm…that is, until a country sets off a nuclear weapon. Of course, Iran is not exactly the most open society in the world.)
Maybe next time Hart could save a few column inches for Iran’s execution recently of poet Hashem Shaabani.
That’s a story neglected by the mainstream media and so ought to be up FAIR’s alley. But since it doesn’t involve condemning Israel or apologizing for Islamists, Hart don’t give a darn…
Ah we see the Fux Snooze Nitwork Troll is picking the best cherries off the tree.
How about a lesson in English – “Possible” –
1. that may or can be, exist, happen, be done, be used, etc.: a disease with no possible cure.
2. that may be true or may be the case, as something concerning which one has no knowledge to the contrary: It is possible that he has already gone.
Please note the words CAN and MAY, they are not the same as “actually” or “does”. Ergo It is possible they may be conducting activities.
——————————— The IAEA Report with all the words not just the cherry picked ones———————
H. Possible Military Dimensions
52. Previous reports by the Director General have identified outstanding issues related to possible military dimensions to Iran’s nuclear programme and actions required of Iran to resolve these. 46
Since 2002, the Agency has become increasingly concerned about the possible existence in Iran of undisclosed nuclear related activities involving military related organizations, including activities related to the development of a nuclear payload for a missile. Iran is required to cooperate fully with the Agency on all outstanding issues, particularly tho se which give rise to concerns about the possible military dimensions to Iran’s nuclear programme, including by providing access without delay to all sites, equipment, persons and do cuments requested by the Agency.
53. The Annex to the Director General’s November 2011 report (GOV/2011/65) provided a detailed analysis of the information available to the Agency , indicating that Iran has carried out activities that
are relevant to the development of a nuclear explosive device. This information is assessed by the Agency to be, overall, credible.
Iran has dismissed the Agency’s concerns, largely on the grounds that Iran considers them to be based on unfounded allegations.
Since November 2011, the Agency has obtained more information which further corroborates the analysis contained in that Annex.
54. The outstanding issues that are not addressed by the practical measures listed in the Annex of the Framework for Cooperation, including those issues identified in previous reports of the Director
General to the Board of Governors, will be addressed in subsequent steps. In this regard, the Agency will continue to seek answers from Iran to the detailed questions provided to Iran regarding Parchin
and the foreign expert, and to request access to a location at the Parchin site where the Agency has information provided by Member States indicating that Iran had constructed a large explosives containment vessel in which to conduct hydrodynamic experiments.
Since the Agency’s first request for access, extensive activities have taken place at this location that will have seriously undermined the
Agency’s ability to conduct effective verification.

And just to really place this all in perspective The U.S. insisted time and again that Iraq was filled to the brim with WMD’s and were only minutes away from launching an all out WMD attack on the world. Only we never did find those weapons in spite of the all the inspections we did. And when the final truth came out, in the end we weren’t inspecting for weapons, we were spying on them to find targets to attack for the War we had already decided we were going wage anyway.
http: //fair.org /take-action /media-advisories /iraq-and-the-media/
Further, we have insisted time and again that Israel had no Nuclear Weapons, none, zip, zero Nada….. Only now we find that they have over 200 nuclear missiles ready for launching.
So what we have so far is US, Zero score when it comes to being right on other countries weapons program And another Right wing troll re-repeating the same garbage that is unproven, unfounded and basically delusional paranoia. Nice try, no cupie doll, you missed the target once more, which is no surprise coming the (not)right trolls of the uber-richt.
