Fresh off successes in mobilizing people to pressure the FCC to condemn Comcast censorship and wrest “white spaces” from corporate control, Free Press has a new Internet for Everyone project announcing (11/11/08) their Los Angeles Town Hall event to “Kick-Start the Movement to Make an Internet Connection a Right of Every American”:
The meeting–to be held on December 6 on the USC campus–is the first in a nationwide series of public conversations to get every American connected to an open, fast and affordable Internet. The event is designed to bring together people from across the city to formulate a broadband plan for the new administration and Congress. Please join us in L.A. and speak out for a better Internet! This will be an interactive discussion. Come prepared to speak out about the future of the Internet.
With limited space, attendees are urged to “please RSVP to be sure your voice is heard!”–and sign up for email notification when the campaign hits your region.
