Hosting David Frum of the National Review on MSNBC‘s Rachel Maddow Show (10/13/08), Maddow responds to the “axis of evil” inventor’s complaint of “an intensification of some of the ugliness of tone that has been a feature of American politics”:
I wonder if part of the problem, in the way that we haven’t moved through these things–we decry them on all sides, people, left, right and center, complaining about the tone in politics. But I sense also that there’s a devotion to coming up with a sort of false equivalence, the idea that bringing up John McCain’s experience in the Keating Five, for example, is somehow equivalent to calling Barack Obama somebody who pals around with terrorists.
We couldn’t have said it better ourselves!See FAIR’s Media Advisory: Ayers = Keating?: Media Falsely Balance Obama, McCain Attacks (10/10/08)

Regarding the Media Advisory:
The last sentence can be read as branding Ayers a terrorist.
Was that the intent?
And as for intent … isn’t the aim of a terrorist to sow terror?
Was that what Ayers was trying to do forty years ago? Whether you agree with his tactics or not, would you equate them with suicide bombers murdering civilians?
Of course, other types of bombers, manufactured by Boeing et al, have committed innumerable acts of terror across the globe, haven’t they?
So who’s a terrorist? I’m just asking the question … and would appreciate an answer.
