Last night (6/6/11), Fox News host Sean Hannity was talking with WorldNetDaily‘s Joe Farah:
FARAH: Charles Rangel is still in the House. Barney Frank is still in the House. Bill Clinton is getting awards. Gerry Studds got a standing ovation from House Democrats. This is a guy who had sex with a congressional page, correct?
HANNITY: But what about–you know, you think back when Republican scandals come up, they all bail out. I can’t think of one that ever stayed, can you?
He’s got a point. Except for Republican Sen. David Vitter (prostitution scandal, still in office). And Republican Sen. John Ensign (extramarital affair, investigation over payments and favors for his lover’s spouse), who stuck around for two years after his scandal surfaced. Oh, and there’s Republican Sen. Larry Craig, who was arrested for lewd conduct in a bathroom in June 2007 and finished out his term. And also Republican South Carolina Gov. Mark Sanford, whose extramarital affair made headlines in mid-2009 when he disappeared from public life to visit his girlfriend. (Remember his cover story about hiking the Appalachian Trail?)
Then there’s Fox favorite Rudy Giuliani, who literally paraded his then-girlfriend Judith Nathan around town in 2000, announcing his intention to file for divorce in a televised press conference.
In the non-politician realm, Hannity needn’t look far for other examples. Bill O’Reilly, anyone?
Sean must have GREAT drugs to bend his thinking.
Please don’t forget Mary Bono, who was photographed licking a donor’s breast during some hard partying. Still very much in the House.
Although I suppose that could be considered delivering a quid pro quo rather than sex.
At any rate, out of all the scandals cited, I think that’s the closest parallel to Anthony Weiner: no laws broken, but definitely not conduct casting credit on the Congress.

Sean Hannity is an asshole. Always has been, always will be.

Today people are pouring through 3 thousand Palin e mails( looking for….something….anything to use against her or smear her.As far as I know she is not in public office or running for one yet the attack dogs who ignore weiner are out after her.I suppose that means all the governors of these United state must now turn over all their e mails in this precedent setting case to the NY times?.And Obama as well?How about Weiners E mails?Rock on Sean
Yeah, right, Hannity ignoring all the other sack of sh#^ isn’t the point. OK. Do both sides have a lying problem, you bet. But a politician lying about his personal life in no way rises to the deceit and malfeasance of their wholesale selling out of this country by such actions as undermining our rights with things like the Patriot Act, or abandoning the writ of habeas corpus for the sake of expediency, or, the wholesale ignoring of International Law when it does not suit the Empire’s desires, or taking this country to war illegally. Both sides have done these things and not a one of them have been impeached or even asked to resign.
This IS about Hannity, who, like most everyone on Fauxnews, simply ignores the bad behavior of folks who are on his team; the GOP. That’s why he “can’t think of one.” His side is always perfect.
What!! No Mention of Newt, or Arnold? Granted Arnolds came out after he left office, but if he decided to seek another one, you can bet the GOP would give him full support!
You can add two other choice entries to the list: Republican Congressman Dan Burton (Indiana), who literally referred to Bill Clinton as a “scumbag” in the wake of his involvement with Lewinsky. Clinton is a triple fried Southern double talker, NAFTA pimping, Iraqi child murdering sanctions supporter, but I could care less what he does with his flesh flute. As for Burton, he’s all that, and also fathered a child out of wedlock while married to another woman. I guess that makes him a scumbucket vs. a scumbag. And then there’s friendly fascist and military industrial welfare pimp Newt Gingrich. While his wife was dying an agonizing death from cancer in the hospital, Newt was reportedly getting his nob polished by his girlfriend in his car while parked in the hospital parking lot. Now that’s a what I call a classy guy. At that same time he calling for Clinton’s impeachment. The issue is not what people do in their sexual life. Who cares? The issue is hypocrisy. If I can improvise on the old biblical saying: Don’t talk about the splinter in another man’s eye if you have a large, highly vascularized, hairy woody in your own.
People lets come down to earth here. Anyone … Hannity or Obermann who defend our leaders lying to us ABOUT ANYTHING are dead wrong.Lying to their wives is one thing.That makes them scum. Lying to US makes them unfit for the massive responsibility and trust of office. When Clinton lied under oath he forfeited his right to lead this great nation.No man without a 100% truth meter can have his finger on “the bomb”.And i worked for Clinton.Loved a lot about him.Weiner may still have charges brought.We don’t know.Showing you junk cross the airwaves is not too great.And lying to us makes him toast as far as i see it.It does seem like you lot are ok with lying about some things.Man my Scottish father(God rest his soul) would of had a word to say to you all.It is like Westpoint.Cheat or Know anyone who cheats, and you are out.Period!It is an oath that goes to a mans character.Lying to the public is breaking the trust.
