Peter Hart was the activist director of FAIR for 15 years, as well as the co-host of FAIR's radio show CounterSpin. He is now the senior field communications officer for Food & Water Watch.

FAIR is the national progressive media watchdog group, challenging corporate media bias, spin and misinformation. We work to invigorate the First Amendment by advocating for greater diversity in the press and by scrutinizing media practices that marginalize public interest, minority and dissenting viewpoints. We expose neglected news stories and defend working journalists when they are muzzled. As a progressive group, we believe that structural reform is ultimately needed to break up the dominant media conglomerates, establish independent public broadcasting and promote strong non-profit sources of information.

Now don’t you just know that a TV exec’s wet dream is to have had the Republican veep contest be a reality show, with Ryan showing off his bowmanship, his bod …
And his bodacious ability to bullshit on the budget?
Definitely the story about his awesome bow-hunting skills. That is the number one trait I look for in a potential vice-president. I am going to personally thank ABC News for targeting my specific demographic.
I must confess, I refused to click either link. My patience for the media coverage of Paul Ryan has worn beyond thin. I expect silliness from Faux Noise, but ABC, NBC and CBS have all joined the growing pool of “infotainment” hawkers. This type of reporting only belongs on E! network. I am very disappointed by what passes for journalism today.

Well now I don’t Chris, I would think we should to take a poll on it; after all we people are not supposed to think; not when we have such ‘gifted statesman to whom we should leave all decisions too.’ (Do you know how hard that is too type with our my fingers wanting to turn and poke my eyes out so I can’t see the keyboard to type it)…
I mean after all should we consider that since Yeltsin was showing how manly he was, our man must be manlier and out manly the manly Yeltsin….. Dear god the mind boggles at conceiving ‘the merriment of this rampant boys’ all getting together at the mountain retreats to chase each other boys and take their shirts off….
Someone pass the mind bleach please.
Things that do NOT make a good presidential/vice-presidential candidate:
– Bow Hunting Skills
– Good physique
– Being a “Good Ol’ Boy”
– Being someone you could sit down with for a beer
– Being dumber than you
– Being a beauty queen
– Touting self-dependence when you depended on the government most of your life (Ryan)
– Advocating torture of illegal prisoners
– Failing to keep your promises
– A long history of destroying American jobs
– Being a businessman
– Being a millionaire/billionaire
– Being self-destructive
– Being a war-hawk
– Being a religious extremist
Of course, this list isn’t exhaustive.
Hmmm… the last VP we had who was a Great White Hunter shot one of his buddies in the face. Gotta love these macho Chicken Hawks.
Well, just add a bulls- eye and you have the perfect attack ad. Then, put on the target the face of any member of a demographic that Ryan’s budget cuts do, indeed, target. It’s as easy as pie. Take aim at Ryan’s taking aim.
I think the emphasis of people of the opinions I share with Liberals should be: there never has been a businessman who made a good president. The jobs are polar opposites. In one case the big boss makes a decision and the matter is finished. In the other the president can make all the decisions he wants, but he does not control everyone, and for such a personality this is maddening. Obama has said another relevant thing: to be a good president you have to take into consideration the needs and beliefs of all your constituents, not merely your rich stockholders.
That list is dead-on, Mc Bob.
yet another media man-crush on a gop candidate……but does paul ryan “have shoulders you could land a 737 on?”

Ok my fellow hard asses lets take a step back. When Obama was a newer face we had pics of him shirtless in Hawaii.Remember Obama-girl?We saw him shooting hoops, and heard about his wife’s biceps. We heard him sing(good voice). We saw his beautiful kids. This is actually correct.Lets see a few things he likes to do.Lets start with a more human approach before we all run off into this conspiracy theory or that. Most of these men are believe it or not very much like you and I.
I do bow hunt.So when I saw it I said wow…I’ll be damned.I saw Sarah Palin fish in the Bering strait .Rock ice climb- and hunt in the wilds of Alaska.Again I liked these people being vigorous and impassioned.Obama has that tag for sure.Mitt is in that line.Is it a pre -req For the toughest job in the world?Hell no………but it dont hurt!
ABC let us down by not telling us if he would be fun to have a beer with…
LOL, what a funny picture. It looks like he’s aiming at the flag, but he’s so close, how could he miss? Is that George Washington in the picture behind him? If it is, I think he missed that advice of,”beware of entangling alliances.”
And too, how did he get that weapon through security and into his office? Does he do this in his office a lot? Does he have budget cuts painted on a target and shoot for cuts with that? This is so silly but it does cause lots more silly questions.
I’m sorry, but he’s not someone to make people on the internet swoon, so who came up with that silliness? He does sort of have that vampire hairline thingy going on though, so when I see pictures of him, I don’t swoon. Whose silly idea was this photo op?
You know Gloriana I gotta give it to you.How DID he get that bow and arrow past security? As far as his looks……..I suppose his wife likes them ,and thats all that matters.
