This week on CounterSpin: A recent New York Times story about Senate Energy Committee chair Joe Manchin’s conflicts of interest quoted a source saying, “It says something fascinating about our politics that we’re going to have a representative of fossil fuel interests crafting the policy that reduces our emissions from fossil fuels.” A lot of people would say that’s less fascinating than horrific, particularly in the context of a new global survey of people between 16 and 25 that found that more than half of them believe “humanity is doomed”—and that 58% of young people said their governments are betraying them. You can’t talk about why we can’t get to realistic climate policy without talking about that betrayal, and its roots. Which is why we talk about Joe Manchin with David Moore, co-founder of investigative news outlet Sludge.

The guy thats tolking about covid, doesnt seem to be promoting a fair evaluation, since its pretty clear he hasnt read the hundreds of doctors ,virologists, and scientists, who have come out in opposition to the vax, for many different reasons. Iam not speaking of a far right propaganda source here! Is he only reading info from the many sources that he has just put down?
So is covid dangerous?
I ment to say it is dangerous obviously. But it has its hidden dangers also.
I agree that media has not served us well during the COVID pandemic. Some key subjects missing from mainstream media coverage are: The definition of a COVID case, the definition of COVID mortality, the efficacy of the PCR test as a diagnostic tool, the reported serious side effects from the mRNA vaccine, the reported serious side effects from the official treatment remdesivir, and the suppression of evidence that ivermectin is an effective treatment and prophylactic. The official frame from the mainstream media is a binary with no room for nuance or evidence that does not fit the binary to be expressed. This framing serves the profit margins of both pharma and big media to the detriment of society.
CDC says that Ivermectin is being studied as a treatment for Covid and so far has shown no evidence of it being effective. It is an anti-parasitic, not an anti-viral.

As far as your other statement: the definition of a Covid case is when you test positive for Covid,and a Covid mortality is when you die of Covid and it’s ensuing complications.
Thank you for quality programming you can count on Janine. The profits of Big Pharma are served by vaccine patents, as Dean Baker has illustrated at this web site numerous times. All the best science, as Jim Naurekas shows, says the vaccine is safe and effective. Herd immunity cannot be achieved by just one country. It must be worldwide. On the slight chance there were deleterious affects from the vaccine, how about anti-vaxxers consider taking one for the team, given how much they are the beneficiary of it?
