In the Brooks interview I heard “where are the dupes coming from?”
This implies that he was saying that an occupying army would be
formed only by gullible allies who were “duped” into the assignment,
and not our troops. One can interpret his analysis as facetious, while
intimating that the bombing is “good” because it is from a distance.
Not convinced this is the best example of war-mongering out there.
