This week on CounterSpin: the saber rattling between the US and North Korea seems to amp up daily, with Kim Jong-Un shooting off missiles, and Donald Trump his mouth—with vague threats to “go after” the country. Corporate media’s cartoonish portrayal of North Korea doesn’t help, as we try to understand how things came to this pass, and how we can get out of it. We’ll hear from writer and activist Hyun Lee, from Zoom in Korea.

Also on the show: April is Sexual Harassment Awareness and Prevention Month, with Fox News helpfully providing Exhibit A of why it’s needed. April is also when we get to Equal Pay Day—when women’s earnings “catch up” to men’s from the year before. These issues are connected, but not often by the press. We’ll talk with Jennifer Reisch, legal director of Equal Rights Advocates.

We also take a quick look at media blaming inequality on Baby Boomers—and not on the billionaires who own the media.

The US bombed NK in the same way we bombed Japan during WW2 – massive incendiary raids which wiped out almost all of their urban areas. The war itself killed huge numbers – I don’t want to be incorrect but at least 1/4 of the population I believe. So what happens when you do that to a country and then continue to demonize, blockade and threaten it for the following decades? How could anyone expect anything except the hyper-militarized society to be formed under such threatening conditions?
3-million North Koreans perished during the Korean war…amerika also used napalm..sick bastards.
