Tucker Carlson (Fox News, 4/12/21)
This week on CounterSpin: Ten human beings were killed and three wounded in Buffalo, New York. By the killer’s own admission, he sought to kill Black people because they are Black, and he is a white supremacist who believes there’s a plot to “replace” white people with Black and brown people, a plot run by the Jews. If you’re news media, you could go all in on media outlets and pundits and political figures whose repeated invocations to this white replacement theory are the obvious spurs for this horrendous crime. Or you could be the Washington Post, and tweet that Joe Biden “ran for president pledging to ‘restore the soul of America.’ A racist massacre raises questions about that promise.”
A press corps that wanted to go down in history as doing better than pretending to raise questions about the “soul of America” would be busy interrogating the structural, economic, political relationships that promote and platform white supremacy. They’d be using their immense and specific influence to interrupt business as usual, to demand—not just today, but tomorrow and the next day—meaningful response from powerful people. They would not be accepting that mass murder in the name of white supremacy and antisemitism is just another news story to report in 2022 America, film at 11.
We’ll talk about what we ought to be talking about with Matt Gertz, senior fellow at Media Matters for America, who has been tracking Fox News and Tucker Carlson, and their impact on US politics, for years now.

And also with Eric K. Ward, senior fellow at Southern Poverty Law Center and executive director at Western States Center—about ways upward and outward from this current, difficult place.

These ‘Replacement Theorists’ are such geniuses. In the same amount of time (mainly white) Christians grow by 749,740,000 people, Jews grow in number by 2,230,000. That is 336X faster growth, and as we know, the Jews have just now almost returned to the population size they had in 1939. Eg, right before a certain country of 97.5% self-described Christians partnered with another similarly Christian country and a Shinto country and then proceeded to mass-murder 1/3 of the world’s Jewish population, along with 47.5 million Chinese and Russians, the overwhelming majority of those being civilians murdered. Those are official German census results, btw- and the Nazis were mighty proud to have that level of religious commitment; despite what Christians say now. Pastor Martin Niemoller (the “first they came for the socialists” guy who spent 7 years in the camps for resisting Hitler) owned up to his part – early support for Hitler, and said that most Believers after the war began sticking their heads in the sand or blaming “pagans” / “occultists” and socialists for the Holocaust.
Hitler himself had championed ‘replacement theory’ – and he got those ideas from non other than Henry Ford, who he said was his “inspiration” – in an interview in 1931 with a Detroit newspaper. After he came to power, Hitler started / founded the Positive Christian denomination, but it wasn’t as popular as he wanted- so instead he insisted all Protestants unify under the German Evangelical Church.
It is Evangelicals in the USA who created a fictional past where the socialists were at the heart of Nazi evil, rather than being purged during the Night of he Long Knives / Rohm Purge in 1934.
Einstein, the Nazi Public Enemy #1 (source: time [dot] com [slash] Einstein-England.), was a legit socialist, and so were Orwell, MLK Jr., Gandhi, and more recently- the Dalai Lama too. Try getting any of that mentioned on Fox News. I dare you. Anyway if somebody is going to do replacement theory “right”, it would be better to focus on Islamaphobia (I would prefer neither).. After all, in the same span of time it takes 2.17 billion Christians to grow by 749,740,000, 1.60 billion Muslims will grow in number by 1,161,780,000. That is more than double the growth rate per capita (34.5 vs 72.6% of the original popsize). The period is 40 yeas, btw. According to the projection, the pop sizes will be 2.9B for team Jesus, 2.7B for team Muhammad, 16M for team Moses, and 1.2B for team Einstein. Eg, unaffiliated with a religion. Buddhism is the only large religion that is dying out- sad for me, because I”m a Bujew, and heavy on the Bu. You won’t find me trying to scapegoat others for our negative growth, being Bu made me more accepting that everything that has a beginning also has an end. (source: Search for “Pew religious growth” and it will be the first hit.)
The not-so-funny thing is that the people who were recently chanting “the Jews will not replace us” by torchlight in Charlottesville were largely Evangelical.
Marx wrote that ‘History repeats itself, first as tragedy, second as farce.’
He wasn’t wrong about that.
Wufafa and Holly Sit. Heavy duty and lots to unpack there, so I need to come up for air.
The American public education system is JUST as much to blame as Fox News.
EXAMPLE:
I have two retired public school teachers from Florida for neighbors. They have a Trump banner and “Joe Biden Sucks” flag hanging next to their driveway.
These retirees are so infected with the propaganda on Fox, they refuse to admit that public schools are essentially a socialist construct: financed with taxes extorted from all residents within a given area, many of whom have never attended any of the schools in the district, and from others who have never had any school age children… and probably never will!
So-ooooo, like so many other misguided Fox News seniors, they remain oblivious to the fact that the final decades of their life (and all the medical care necessary to keep them alive) will be financed BY THOSE SAME TAXPAYERS… while they complain ad nauseam, and great detail, all the myriad ways in which Socialism is currently destroying “our country.”
Disappointing to hear Gertz attack the straw man of Replacement Conspiracy Theory, rather than attempt to deconstruct the facts that make up the argument. There is a very real difference between fear over observable, concrete sociological trends and the imagining (out of that very same fear) of a shadow cabal that schemes and undermines Americans for personal profit. Separating the fact from fiction is necessary, and neither mass media nor Counterspin have done a good job of it thus far. Saying, “It’s not happening!” when it’s very obvious to anyone who has access to census information that it is, is dangerous, as the Buffalo shooting clearly illustrates. The focus should instead be on showing how the process is organic and by no means unique to history, in order to disprove the existence of a secret oligarchy composed of jews, “race traitors”, the WEF, the Trilateral Commission, etc.
