The stories that came out due to the information Bradley Manning allegedly leaked have been explosive, front page news. But his trial? Not so much. And Maria Bartiromo told Meet the Press that tax increases on the wealthy are really tax increases for everyone. And why was a Starbucks $450 gift card front page news at USA Today– right underneath a stirring piece about poverty?
FAIR TV breaks it down:

Wonderful trenchent, scathing commentary on the lowly state of our current public discourse, Ms. Jackson. Season’s Greetings to you and Fair and best wishes for the New Year of skewering the rich and powerful coming up.
Would it be fair to cover the fact that Julian Assange was on Russian TV? Russia isn’t a journalist’s paradise. If a reporter covers something Putin or the government, (if the two are different), doesn’t like, it’s a two step process, neither of which takes place in a courtroom. The reporter is badly beaten. Then, if that doesn’t shut her up, she’s assassinated by generic “thugs” who never face trial.
I wonder what Britain, France, or Germany would do if one of their soldiers fed military documents to Wickileaks? This is the usual argument my leftist friends use when I question Castro’s repressive Cuba, try to turn two wrongs into a right. I’m more left than anything else, but get fed up with one sided arguments. I’d like a world map, for example, with everyone’s military bases on it. There certainly would be more of ours than anyone else’s. In my opinion we should turn our Offense Dept. into a Defense Dept. (Oddly, on a recent trip to Europe when I suggested we close our bases there, and said how good it would be for their economies to build more, an odd silence descended, NOT “Good the Americans are leaving!” We can’t afford bases there. Nor in Japan or Vietnam. Some think Wickileaks is a scam because it only showed a few civilian casualties by the US, which, sadly, occur in any war. We shouldn’t have been in Afghanistan or Iraq. But Iraqis seem to like to vote. Along with most people in the world. (If they survive as a country.) Does Fair cover the fact that muslims kill more muslims than westerners do even in Pakistan. Back to Wickileaks, some comment was made of how well our diplomats write. Private gossip about leaders caused a few problems, but isn’t “diplomacy “behind closed doors” the norm? Which is to say the left overstates U.S. crimes, and the U.S. government blunders by arresting and holding Bradley Manning in terrible conditions. His arrest, I imagine, is legal. If it isn’t, that’s much worse. I don’t know from FAIR’s reporting.
April, can you please troll elsewhere.
Are you just this dense maybe?
I cant tell, but I will clue you in on something that will save you alot of stress.
FairTV is not news media, its a media watchdog group. It doesnt cover the wars, it covers media coverage of the wars.
It focuses on US media because it is a US watch dog group, so it has no concern for RT.
Now that you know, you have no excuses, get on the same page as the rest of us or get off.
Bravo! Bradley Manning is a hero. We need more openness if we are to avoid more wars.
Good show
Bradley Manning made the mistake of forwarding a video of American Pilots shooting at unarmed civilians leaving a newsroom. When a SUV was spotted trying to help the wounded the Pilots killed the occupants, when they were told there were children in the SUV the pilots commented “that will teach them to brings their kids to a war zone.”
Of course it was not a war zone until the American Pilots showed up.
The Army system had this story completely covered up until Manning came on the scene. That’s why they have to abuse, torture and cover up Manning’s treatmernt as a prisoner. Manning caught the military in a very unfreedom-like pose … which is the same opinion held by most non-americans.
The military-industrial-Congressional complex is out of control … just as retiring president Ike predicted more than 50 years ago
Although I abhor his treatment, I have to agree with April regarding Bradley Manning’s naivete. Our military state in the US is frightening. But his leaks are not the way to deal with. That will only backfire and make things more repressive here. The way to deal with this situation is for large-scale regime change, a change in morals from “me me me me me” to an intelligent, moral treatment of our spending priorities. I do not think Bradley Manning’s heroic action really had much of an impact on Americans, sadly.
jim greene, I mostly agree with what you had to say, but must comment on this: “The military-industrial-Congressional complex is out of control … just as retiring president Ike predicted more than 50 years ago.”
We often see this quote attributed to Ike, but before we continue the cannonizaton of Old Bubblehead, let’s not forget that he uttered these words on his way out the door — after eight long years of letting the military-industrial complex do whatever it wanted to do, with Secretary of State Dulles doing all the heavy lifting while Ike played golf.
At no time in his presidency did Eisenhower ever move to reign in the military-industrial complex; however, he did prevent a pay increase from taking effect for the lowest ranking officers.
Corruption in the military, corruption in the private sector. Corruption with Federal Judge Royal Furgeson and Federal Judge Stacey Jernigan.. What can you do when a Federal judge who has complete immunity violates a civil litigant civil rights? The only thing you can do is go before the appeals court and hope they hear it straight. The case i am talking about is the Civil lawsuit that has taken on a life of its own. the litigant, Jeffrey Baron has been denied Due Process by Furgeson, has been restricted by court order to file any motions on his own behalf, lawyers who he would hire very quickly had to resign due to pressures brought about by these 2 judges. On Nov 7, the 5th district court of appeals heard this case and now have to decide if they want to create new law by allowing Furgeson to violate Baron’s 4th amendment. If so, then your rights and my rights will not longer matter in a court of law. The feds will be able to come into your home and seize your personal possessions as they did with Baron. Something must be done. To add to the misconduct of the court, furgeson is resigning from the bench(why) and will become the new dean of a newly formed law school at a well known university. Heaven help us becasue he will be teaching his new students how to beat our Civil Rights.

Thanks for any help. We appreciate it
