This week: The corporate media finally paid attention to the Bradley Manning trial–but NBC botched some of the history. Plus the New York Times tries to show how Democrats are moving ‘away from the center.’ But how do they define the center anyway?
And we look at an MSNBC debate over Walmart and a living wage that could have used more debate.

In your report here, you utter the cusp-word that describes some kind of middle-ism yet nowhere has anyone defined it.
WTH is “centrism?’ What exactly does a centrist believe? RW and Leftist public policy are NOT compatible in any way, nor can they be somehow made to work in concert. Those policies are two disjoint sets entirely. Centrism cannot infer such a ridiculous, impossible notion.
It would be a great service if someone in the alternative media would stipulate a definition for centrism so that people like me can understand stories covering issues involving centrism.
Yo No Difference,
I think it is up to the mainstream media to define the terms centrism and centrist as they are the one who use them and glorify them. I think those in the alternative media like Fair are pointing to the problem of this term “Centrist” in their criticism of the use of the term. It is essentially meaningless, but in use it means splitting the difference or finding some golden mean, or middle position, between the positions of the dominant Republican and Democratic parties. And as the Democratic party is a poor excuse for a left wing in our country, centrism means moving to the right.
I really like Jeanine’s reporting.
Yeah, well done, Jeanine.
Who are the guys in plain clothes who escort Manning around? They don’t appear to be military. Are they hired guns?
All these stories have the same thread going through them…..Don’t think what YOU think, listen to what we want you to think and become indoctrinated with our pro corporate, pro right wing agenda.
If you don’t agree with us, you’re just ignorant.
Sheldon: You are right. I am jumping at the wrong throats. I really DO appreciate what FAIR is doing; I am just so frustrated, and they are nearby and listening, so I hollered at them. Uncalled for, sorry.
And, just for completion here, I actually HAVE written, phoned, and tweeted the news desks of NBC, MSNBC, CSPAN, even PBS, and got nowhere. These are all funded and/or owned by corporate interests, so they have no compulsion to relay the sentiment of the American people. Air America, btw, was no better.
I agree that the snowden story and the Manning story should not be front page. They are procedural. They broke the law ….and away they go.Goodnight funny men.We should be concentrating on the president and the nightmare that is his presidency.THAT effects us all
Well here is something that is not right of center and not left of center and not center of center on either side. It’s not four or three corners. It’s not a Chinese box; although they do know this one by now. It’s Mossad science, that is, Mossad medical science and the need for the press to explore how it is ruining the practice of medicine in the USA.
Before A Cockburn of “Counterpunch” died, I understand he may have been working on research about how Jewish endocrinologists like one whose initials are TF who is the head of Endocrinology at UCLA and at another medical school in Los Angeles and another Jewish endocrinologist who practices in TX whose initials are RA might have been working on making people with endocrine disorders go pseudo-hyperthyroid in order to be suggestive to Kabbalah and other mind control tricks for hijacking–witness 9/11–and for other purposes. (School shootings and the like.) RA, M.D., in particular, has written a lot about the sexual desires of women who become pseudo-hyperthyroid whom he has treated. I understand that A. Cockburn was trying to find out if these Jewish endocrinologists may have been using what they knew from their patients in this regard for prostitution rings run by the Mossad that have surplanted the ring that Heidi Fleiss manned–the one that also had Peter Sellars’s daughter in it. (Not the opera director Peter Sellars but the British actor who was in movies like “Dr. Strangelove”.)
There is a big rumor in Hollywood that a certain former Austrian Republican governor used Fleiss’s escort services, and, therefore, could be blackmailed for pro-Israeli purposes.
Isn’t this just as important as how the media treats B Manning? Maybe more so?
I don’t know but I might lay off the punch at the next Bradley Manning Fan Club meeting, sir. All the news reported about Bradley Manning does not seem to indicate he is any sort of conspiracy theorist, regarding Mossad or any other institution other than the USG. I doubt very much, given that Manning has been ostracized and abused for being a homosexual, that he would hold any theoretical-sounding anti-semitic rhetoric; his complaint is based on facts, not quaalude-induced fantasies or what-ifs.
Walmart has a lot of questions to answer…still. The Foreign Corrupt
Practices Act says that it is illegal for an American company to use bribes in foreign contries. However, Walmart used bribes all over in Mexico, and has yet to answer for this.
Secondly, Walmart should change it’s advertising slogan since so many of its employees depend on public assistance in things like health care and food stamps. Perhaps they might be the biggest employer in retail, but maybe we should add, the biggest corporation who keeps its BIGNESS by using taxpayer dollars. Since you didn’t do this all on your own Walmart, you should drop your motto ” always low prices, always.” Please replace it with “Subsidized low prices always.”That’s truth in advertising.
