You thought media were done with the ‘Obamacare website is like the Iraq War’ stuff? Here’s USA Today‘s Susan Page (12/11/13):
Still, although they are obviously different enterprises, some analysts see parallels in the political impact of the Iraq War on Bush and the Affordable Care Act on Obama.
Alright, who are the ‘analysts’ saying this?
“In both cases, they were among the most important choices of each man’s presidency, and they were controversial,” says William Kristol, editor and publisher of the conservative Weekly Standard.
He notes that Bush’s credibility was damaged when no weapons of mass destruction were found in Iraq, a primary reason he had given for ordering the invasion; Obama’s credibility was hurt when his repeated assurances that anyone who liked their insurance plans would be able to keep them turned out to be untrue.
That’s right– Bill Kristol, of the most prominent media cheerleaders of the Iraq invasion, is the analyst who thinks Obama is in the same kind of trouble that Bush was after the Iraq debacle.
How a thinking person would seek out Kristol on this is hard to fathom. Just as galling, though, is the idea that Kristol would talk about Bush‘s damaged credibility. But that’s the thing about people like Kristol and the corporate media: Iraq should have shown that his analysis— that the war would last two months, that “we’ll be vindicated when we discover the weapons of mass destruction”– is the kind of thing you’d want to avoid.
But these days Kristol can still be seen on outlets like ABC and NBC. In the supposedly liberal media, he’ll evidently always have a home.
I think if you’re really going to make this asinine comparison, you might want to get someone OTHER THAN one of the Iraq War’s most visible cheerleaders to weigh in.
But I’m not Susan Page.

Bill Kristol, as a senior member of Israel Hasbara Committee should be excused for lying. Kristol, along with other Jewish Neocons, cooked-up the lies about Iraqi WMDs in the past – and now they’re not ashamed to repeat the same lies against Iran.
The reason for the bloody regime change in Baghdad was brought with the help of Dubya Bush – was because Israeli leaders began thinking an Iraq under Saddam Hussein could become an “existential” threat to the Zionist entity.
On September 10, 2002 – Philip Zelikow, the Zionist Jew Executive Director of the 9/11 Commission, told a crowd at the University of Virginia: “Why would Iraq attack America or use nuclear weapons against us? I’ll tell you what I think the real threat and actually has been since 1990 – It’s the threat against Israel“.
Uri Avnery, veteran Israeli journalist, author and former 3-term member of Knesset, wrote on April 9, 2003: “Who are the winners? They are the so-called neo-cons, or neo-conservatives. A compact group, almost all of whose members are Jewish. They hold the key positions in the Bush administration, as well as in the think-tanks that play an important role in formulating American policy and the ed-op pages of the influential newspapers“.

Folks like Bill Kristol are the modern day re-incarnation of the old ‘Sooth-sayers”. They say the most bold and outrageous things, in the hopes of be right, because according the old Formula, if you a scientist and your wrong one time out of hundred, they you must a fake, but if your a sooth-Sayer and you get one out of a hundred right, you must be the real deal.
They will spew the most absurd and asinine things in the hopes that some of it will actual be right, thus vindicate their spewing of the most Absurd and Asinine things.
I’d say that the ACA’s woes will have a greater political impact on Dear Misleader’s “legacy” than the Iraq War has had on Dear Leader’s.
“Obamacare”‘s sideline has never been filled with corpress cheerleaders as Iraq’s invasion and occupation was.
I think Bush’s political fortunes were much more heavily influenced by economic factors than those related to the Iraq War not going according to script.
(For the US. For Iraqis [and more broadly, Afghans, Pakistanis and other folks in the crosshairs of empire building], it went precisely as planned – death and destruction.)
But that said, who creates the conditions for “political fallout”?
The same elite media that pontificates on who is a victim of it, who are the gatekeepers of “conventional wisdom”.
Of course, the ACA *is* largely a piece of shit. I’m saying that as someone who’s having to deal with it. It leaves millions uninsured and underinsured or overcharged, it’s a profit funnel for the “health” industry, and its sins will make the struggle for true universal healthcare that much more difficult through its association with “gummint-run healthcare” in much of the public mind, aided and abetted by those self same MSMers.
But imagine the bile spewed its way if it actually was what we need, and have a right to?
Riiiiight. Because making healthcare more accessible to millions of Americans is JUST like illegally murdering hundreds of thousands of people. Kristol and his fellow idiots have no shame.
