A Daily News headline was typical, describing those arrested as “Bronx Gang Members Responsible for Nine Years of Murders and Drug-Dealing.” No “allegedly,” no “police say,” and no time, really, to hear from the community that was set upon in the pre-dawn by agents in military gear with helicopters overhead. Democracy is truly schpecial.
