The headline in today’s New York Times (7/13/11):
Plenty of Action Before the Game, but No Immigration Law Protests
The Paper of Record reported that the much-discussed protests against Arizona’s SB 1070 law fizzled:
In the end, commerce trumped conscience. It was no mystery why the fervor over the immigration law was as flat as a half-full can of soda left in the 100-degree heat.
Meanwhile, back in reality (Think Progress, 7/13/11):

That’s a pretty neat disappearing act.
Might be worth a go at “America’s Got Talent”.
Thank you, FAIR.

GOTTA LOVE THE NY SLIMES! 2 years ago i was working a artsand crafts fair in my town.
as i was setting up a sales rep from the slimes set up adjacent to me. the kid working
the booth asked if i wanted to subscribe . i said i’ll make you a deal- if they print real
news again i’ll re up. kid said fair enough and walked back to his seat . the irony was
delicious! the truth is there is always bias in news papers and always was. its just about
ones own personal bias!
It’s clear that the press has wanted to avoid this issue from the start – god forbid politics should intrude upon the great American pastime.
And, not that this has to do anything with journalism or newspapers, the day before the game USA Today had numerous stories about the game, and all sorts of ancillary things (both in the news and sports sections), but NOT ONE WORD about the possibility of protests. No surprise there, I suppose.

What is the issue? The way i see it is pretty simple. If you are on my land illegally…get off!If you are in my house illegally….get out.If you are in my car, my boat,my business, you had better vamoose. Now if you are in the country illegally pretty much the same though process. What am i missing?
