Living up to the ridiculous notion that every right-wing slam on ACORN demands coverage in the “liberal media,” the Washington Post (“Duo Release Another Video of Their Meeting With ACORN Worker,” 10/22/09) runs a storyon the latest from the right-wing activists whose undercover videos shot at local ACORN offices got all the attention in the first place.
So what’s the news? Well, apparently the duo appeared at the National Press Club to unveil a video of themselves at a Philadelphia ACORN office, where nothing much happened. The video they presented did not include any of the audio from ACORN workers–they removed those responses, allegedly for fear of being sued. And the pair refused to take questions from the press after their (sort of) press conference. Apparently the point of the whole exercise was to show that they spent 32 minutes at the office–and were thus not told to leave immediately. How, exactly, does this qualifyas news?

Meanwhile, all the footage of storm trooper tactics at the G20 in Pittsburgh somehow doesn’t rate more than a passing mention, if that.
You’d think the “liberal media” might pick up on that, wouldn’t you?
Well, *somebody* might think that … I try to live in the real world.
They showed a silent video and then refused to speak to the press?
Gives an added piquancy to the phrase “dumb show.”
ALL FUNDING SHOULD BE TAKE AWAY FROM ACORN, AND NOT BE ALLOWED TO START UP ANOTHER GROUP OF ANY KIND.
Republi’con Wingers are so busy trying to take down Acorn that they forgot that everything that happens to Acorn will happen to Cheney’s Halliburton (and others) that allowed one of their female employees to be *GANG RAPED* (and had to have recontructive surgery) and then put in a box until she was found. Now Republi’cons don’t want to allow that young lady to sue Halliburton.
*THIRTY* REPUBLI’CON SENATORS VOTED AGAINST HER TO SAVE HALLIBURTON. Hilliburton receives BILLIONS of dollars A YEAR, while Acorn received 55 Million in a 15 year span. If one goes, all must go.
Halliburton Co., the second-largest oil-services company, paid Chief Executive Officer David Lesar $15.2 million last year as the company prepared to shed KBR Inc., its government-services and engineering unit.

…and I must add that the thirty republi’con senators were the *only* ones that voted against her. But they’re doing their best to take down Acorn. Both companies were wrong. But the Republi’con stance is truly political.
If someone can name a Democrat that voted to retain funding for ACORN I’d like to hear of it. That person will get my undying thanks. ACORN has done the yeoman duty of bringing the uncaring & unknowing to voting booths for many years, not to mention the many other community functions they’ve bolstered.
I voted other.
They are active protectionists of their agenda. They don’t report news when they believe it distracts from their agenda.
For them, the agenda is the news.
