Today’s broadcast of Democracy Now! featured an excerpt of Noam Chomsky’s address at FAIR’s 25th anniversary celebration. Watch it:
Want to see the whole event–with more of Chomsky, Michael Moore, Glenn Greenwald and Amy Goodman? Buy the DVD from FAIR today.

It’s an interesting dynamic between Chomsky and FAIR, DN! and perhaps others.
They like to trot him out occasionally to, I don’t know, give
themselves some “radical” legitimacy, while often, to my mind, shying away from his level of critique of US policies and the ravages of capitalism.
I’d like to see him, and them, address that seeming dichotomy.
Judging from the small clip it seems to be worth the price!
Chomsky informs by using the words of the power elite quoted from their own documents.
I am always amazed at these quotes and the totally new interpretations that become possible after what is considered adequate coverage by the corporate media is finished.
Reality does not have a liberal bias as claimed by Colbert. Reality has a radical bias, particularly in relation to the corporate media.
Thank you FAIR and Democracy Now! for introducing more reality into the public discourse than the majority will feel comfortable with.
I was fortunate enough to see Chomsky (and Phil Donahue!) speak at FAIR’s 15th anniversary. I feel grateful he’s still here to speak to us on FAIR’s 25th.

Chomsky said: â┚¬Ã…“Plainly, the U.S. and allies are not going to want governments which are responsive to the will of the people; if that happens, not only will the U.S. not control the region, but it will be thrown out.â┚¬Ã‚Â
The simple truth can be told in one sentence, it is the US government lies that are confusing and deliberately misleading. Their propaganda against the American People goes on every day.
Chomsky was not only referring to the Middle East and Africa, but also referring to our American Democracy (government for and by the People) that has been overthrown by the corporate Fascist Oligarchy.
You sheep had better wake up to the fact that the Fascist Oligarchy is at WAR with the American People and our Democracy via the Democrats, Republicans and the Libertarians. Look what they have done to the US in the last ten years. They have moved their industrial base to Communist China (their partners), sacked our National Treasury and enslaved American citizens to debt as they purposely bankrupted the United States with unjust wars and bankster fraud.
http://www.usdebtclock.org/ You sheep owe $126, 087 each to the banksters and you know how banksters are, they want you to pay them or enslave you (think austerity). YOU are the ENEMY to them and we are under attack, they are using military, financial, biological and weather modification weapons AGAINST YOU. The rest of the world knows it but Americans are so brainwashed and stupid that they think that the US Fascist Oligarchy represents them!
When you brainwashed sheep wake up, you will have to fight to get your American Democracy back, then we will see if you have any will or not. Man up you whiney little weenies, the Free World is watching!
Fascism should more appropriately be called Corporatism because it is a merger of state and corporate powerâ┚¬Ã‚Â. — Benito Mussolini
What hell guys, fairness and accuracy in reporting, but we don’t want to talk to you unless you give us money first? Come on, promote your brand, throw up the video online too. I bet you money you end up with more in your pockets, not less. It’s 2011 and you’re trying to promote a message, this is beyond ridiculous.
I agree with Derek. You don’t fund raise by peddling DVDs at inflated prices. Get these great talks to as many people as possible by putting em up for FREE on YouTube and you bring more awareness to your cause and organization. The libertarians get this. Small libertarian organizations like antiwar.com can raise $75,000 in just a 5 day fundraiser with hundreds of $10 or $20 donations and they don’t sell a thing.
Somehow doesn’t surprise me that self proclaimed “anti-capitalists” fail to grasp this. Get these essential talks online. People like Noam and Greenwald need to be heard!
