We noted in a recent action alert that NBC anchor Brian Williams was misleading viewers about Iran. He called Iranian president Mahmoud Rouhani’s comments about not pursuing a nuclear weapon a “sudden” shift.
It’s not– as NBC reporter Brian Williams has reported himself. See for yourself:

Winston was taking part in a demonstration in one of the central London squares at the moment when it happened. It was night, and the white faces and the scarlet banners were luridly floodlit. On a scarlet-draped platform an orator of the Inner Party, a small lean man with disproportionately long arms and a large bald skull over which a few lank locks straggled, was haranguing the crowd. A little Rumpelstiltskin figure, contorted with hatred, he gripped the neck of the microphone with one hand while the other, enormous at the end of a bony arm, clawed the air menacingly above his head. His voice, made metallic by the amplifiers, boomed forth an endless catalogue of atrocities, massacres, deportations, lootings, rapings, torture of prisoners, bombing of civilians, lying propaganda, unjust aggressions, broken treaties. It was almost impossible to listen to him without being first convinced and then maddened. At every few moments the fury of the crowd boiled over and the voice of the speaker was drowned by a wild beast-like roaring that rose uncontrollably from thousands of throats. The most savage yells of all came from the schoolchildren. The speech had been proceeding for perhaps twenty minutes when a messenger hurried on to the platform and a scrap of paper was slipped into the speaker’s hand. He unrolled and read it without pausing in his speech. Nothing altered in his voice or manner, or in the content of what he was saying, but suddenly the names were different. Without words said, a wave of understanding rippled through the crowd. Oceania was at war with Eastasia! The next moment there was a tremendous commotion. The banners and posters with which the square was decorated were all wrong! Quite half of them had the wrong faces on them. It was sabotage! The agents of Goldstein had been at work! There was a riotous interlude while posters were ripped from the walls, banners torn to shreds and trampled underfoot. The Spies performed prodigies of activity in clambering over the rooftops and cutting the streamers that fluttered from the chimneys. But within two or three minutes it was all over. The orator, still gripping the neck of the microphone, his shoulders hunched forward, his free hand clawing at the air, had gone straight on with his speech. One minute more, and the feral roars of rage were again bursting from the crowd. The Hate continued exactly as before, except that the target had been changed.
The thing that impressed Winston in looking back was that the speaker had switched from one line to the other actually in midsentence, not only without a pause, but without even breaking the syntax. But at the moment he had other things to preoccupy him. It was during the moment of disorder while the posters were being torn down that a man whose face he did not see had tapped him on the shoulder and said, ‘Excuse me, I think you’ve dropped your brief-case.’ He took the brief-case abstractedly, without speaking. He knew that it would be days before he had an opportunity to look inside it. The instant that the demonstration was over he went straight to the Ministry of Truth, though the time was now nearly twenty-three hours. The entire staff of the Ministry had done likewise. The orders already issuing from the telescreen, recalling them to their posts, were hardly necessary.
Padramellyrn…Sheeesh I hope you got that off your chest.Because that was one hell of a tirade.Your point was lost but I think your first sentence said enough to give us a clue of what you were on about.My favorite part of this FAIR story is -showing a tape of’ Ah ma needs a job”to prove the Iranians have said that they didn’t want nukes before.So he is the truth sayer we shall now depend on?Yet we must FORGET all the threats against us and Israel?Kind of reminds me of the tape the American Nazis use to prove Hitler knew nothing of any Holocaust.The one where he talks of helping them to immigrate.Why would we ever believe two men who were as crazy as a shit house rat is the question.
Notice today Iran said they would negotiate on everything but sending fissionable material out of the country.This smacks of stalling for time and position ,while giving nothing up.You see building a bomb is basically theoretical.But you must have the core material.Iran says it is not weapons grade.So what they have done is stockpile low grade material and lots of it.This can be quickly brought up to weapons grade within about two weeks ,if need be- and placed in a “theoretically “designed device.Remove the material and it would take years.So you see Iran thinks they can fool the west(of course never the Israelis)into buying for time.The material is of no practicable use as it is.They have more than enough to supply any peaceful use.A thousand times over.This is for one thing and one thing only…..A BOMB.Its like a guy filling his house with dynomite up to the rafters because he may have to get rid of a mouse he saw in his basement.I think here in America we call it a load of BS!!!!
Rouhani claims Iran will never develop nuclear weapons, but for 16 years he was secretary of the Iranian Supreme National Security Council, which formulates Iranian nuclear policy. This means Rouhani played a direct and influential role in getting Iran’s nuclear program where it is today He furthermore claims Iran wants to develop a constructive dialogue, but during his tenure as secretary, Iran assassinated opposition leaders in Berlin, blew up a Jewish Community Center in Buenos Aires, and blew up the Khobar Towers in Saudi Arabia, which resulted in the death of 19 American soldiers. While Rouhani is making claims for peace, Iran has done nothing to reverse its old ways. Promising peace does not do any good if you still support a barbarous regime, fund terrorists groups, and work to develop nuclear weapons. A change of rhetoric is just that, and nothing more.
Prime minister of Israel said it best.”The last leader of Iran was a wolf in wolfs clothing.This one is a wolf in sheep’s clothing”.
I am sorry Mr E. You have zero clue and Zero Evidence on anything you spew about Iran. Please stop listening the Fux Snooze Nitwork channel for the latest episode of “The ways I wish things were, so I could sound smart.” I seriously doubt you even have a clue about what it takes to make fissionable material, let alone what it take to make a bomb.
So lets see since 2006 they have been saying they aren’t making a bomb, the International community of Nucs, says they aren’t making a bomb, the only people who are saying they are making a bomb is someone like you, who has zero intelligence in that department.
So the only people around here using double speak is the Fux Snooze nitwork followers. Try something else. Like selling shoes.
Oh and for the record, you can look up the “exact” paragraph in 1984, Part 2 Chap IX. The whole point was the fact the media speaker is using doublethink and double speak, not Iran.
While I admire those who take the trouble to express their views on this badly needed site, I feel the comment here has become largely inferior to what is said on other sites dealing with the destruction of the American democracy and the mass media that has encouraged it.
While incisive comments are frequently made here, there is generally too much cuteness, bad logic, ignorance of facts, vile language, and for lack of a kinder way to put it, long-winded, rambling nonsense. Those who attempt to counter such postings are typically accused, ridiculously, of ad hominem attacks.
Thus the site’s comment has largely devolved into responses to other comments rather than worthwhile observations on the subject at hand. And in my view, this deterioration has been exacerbated by its new, cluttered and confusing multi-media format, which starts off with home page summaries that change before they can be read.
How about a strictly print version of the site with comments screened for word count limits and repulsive language? And/or, let readers reply directly to comments and recommend those they like with a click. On other sites lack of support does seem to discourage vapid discourse.
Padre…..Certainly I cannot make any calls on the technical aspect of Iran making a nuclear bomb.Exactly as Obama has not a clue.But when the best minds in this countries nuclear weapons programs….(you know those fellows who can make MIRVED hydrogen weapons that can be fired from a sub and hit a postage stamp in Moscow)say they are trying to do this….well im believing them ahead of you.So is Obama
